Once again, I have authorised the opening of the resort for rentals during closedown weeks in 2025 weeks 49 to 51. The resort is also open for rentals during closedown this year.
Last year, closedown rentals generated 31,826€ of extra income for the Community .

From Thursday 12 September, owners and guests will be offered one free standard connection per person
For those owners who were questioning the situation with short term rentals, Wimpen has sent the following response . . . . .
“Rental availability at Las Casitas is currently open until July 31, 2025, giving owners ample opportunity to rent additional weeks. Given that Las Casitas is a small complex with only 49 units and a significant proportion of owner weeks, it's normal to see reduced rental availability, especially during popular periods.
Weekend rentals, these are typically last-
Rentals contribute significantly to the resort's income, not only supporting investments but also helping to offset the deficit in owners' fees. The fees alone do not cover all expenses, and without the additional income from rentals, fees would need to increase, which would be unmanageable for owners. Therefore, restrictive policies at Las Casitas would be counterproductive as they directly affect the resorts revenue. It's crucial to carefully consider the impact of any policy changes which affect all owners but maybe benefit a few.”

There have been questions from owners. This is not going to happen this year as the focus will be on Villa Refurbishment

I am often contacted by owners who have sadly suffered the bereavement of a joint or family owner who held the Las casitas Villa ownership in their name.
I have ve published some advice which I hope will assist any owner who sadly finds themselves in this position
0wners have been asking me about blocked weeks. These are weeks abandoned by owners with no maintenance fees, which wimpen try to recover through rentals. Because they are Escritura weeks, they cannot be sold.
The totals are as follows:
The total number of Escritura owners is 1190
The number of blocked Escritura owners is 516
The number of active Escritura owners is 674
Escritura owners are encouraged to transfer to the Holding compeny to avoid significant and expensive problems when they can no longer use their weeks

Upon initial arrival, owners will receive a small soap and toiletries, a bottle of water, detergent, and a bottle of wine as a welcome gesture.. They are not intended to be used for the duration of your holiday, as a self catering villa, once used owners would be expected to provide their own.
